Google to "Dutch Auction" its shares - Apr. 29, 2004More information on how to register as a bidder for the Google shares. It looks like the auction might actually create a fairly realistic price for the shares, but it is possible only some people will take part in the auction, not really understanding it and waiting for the price to be set at the end, then buy. In which case, getting in the auction might be a good idea... Then sell straight after, betting on there being still enough demand to keep the price steady or rising, otherwise, no profit, worse in fact, loss...
