www.TekGuru.co.uk :: View topic - Number of rings before divert

Finally did this, in Ireland, the number to dial for O2 call forwarding is just like your own number but with a 5 after the 86, here's an example, this one give you 25 seconds to answer. I first typed it correctly into a note then copied and pasted it to the phone.

XDA II and Jabra BT250 compatibility

Compactible with XDA II? - eXpansys US

It's always the simple explanation isn't it? I have an XDA II and a Jabra BT250 headset, and suddenly they stopped working together, finally, I found the solution, and it was so stupidly simple!
Here's the quote that solved it for me:

"I just got myself the BT250 and tried it with my i-mate/xda II. Initially had the same problem as bbherens, and I thought it was a dud. Paired it, but phone just did would not "talk" to the headset, same symptoms. After a lot of headscratching, I finally worked it out.

I had elected *not* to display the Profile on my today screen, and hence didn't realise it was set to Off. Set it back to On, and it works perfectly."

Victorinox. Original Swiss Army Knife.

Ah, what geek doesn't remember in their youth wanting a Swiss Army Knife? Some of us remember wanting a Rambo knife with the screw-off end with the sewing-fishing kit inside and a compass. Well, now they have USB memory!

The Google IPO web site

The Google IPO web site
OK, I'm a bit Google obsessed right now, but it is interesting!

MoreGoogle (not from Google): add features to Google - including Thumbnails

MoreGoogle (not from Google): add features to Google - including Thumbnails

This is cool, install this 300k file and when you do a search in Google, the results page has extra features. I don't think they're great, but the idea that you can put your own results page in front of Google is interesting...

JAYBE.org With this I can pick up my Gmail in Outlook and get notifications when I receive emails, if I set this up on a machine with outlook and an always on connection, I'll be able to automatically forward my Gmail to an account I can pick up from my Pocket PC. Which is nice.

Getting your Hotmail in Mozilla's Mail Client

Getting your Hotmail in Mozilla's Mail Client

wonder can I do this with Gmail too? I am so sick of Outlook, it is the slowest program in the world, why the hell does it take so long just to download and open some emails? Even Outlook Express is faster!

this article has better info on how to set up a brokerage account to buy shares, scroll down to the mechanics section.

Google to "Dutch Auction" its shares - Apr. 29, 2004

Google to "Dutch Auction" its shares - Apr. 29, 2004

More information on how to register as a bidder for the Google shares. It looks like the auction might actually create a fairly realistic price for the shares, but it is possible only some people will take part in the auction, not really understanding it and waiting for the price to be set at the end, then buy. In which case, getting in the auction might be a good idea... Then sell straight after, betting on there being still enough demand to keep the price steady or rising, otherwise, no profit, worse in fact, loss...

Welcome to Gmail

Welcome to Gmail

Welcome to Gmail indeed! I have high hopes for this becoming my default mail account after over 5 years with Hotmail. It's missing 2 features I really need though: Pocket PC access and automatic redirection. I would actually prefer the automatic redirection on Hotmail to get emails going to Gmail, but I've changed my replyto address, so things are starting to pop up in gmail.

It is a pleasure to be able to see an email conversation develop, mails are stored in what appears to be layers so you can open a specific mail and follow the thread of it like a newsgroup. Also, Labels keep stuff organised without folders. It's virtually the same thing in the end, but with a label, a mail can be in more than one place, although you can copy mails too...

Hm, like most people I just like the New, New thing. perhaps it is not so great after all.

Speaking of Google, thinking of buying shares in the IPO? well my advice is wait. Once this so-called "fair" Dutch auction is over, the price will quickly crash when everyone sells out to make a quick buck. Then'd be a good time to buy, because they will climb steadily after that. No share stays at it's IPO level, sometimes it takes years to settle down, but with the good old internet, it'll happen fast in this case. I think like Microsoft, Amazon, Ebay share's Google is a good buy, but wait for the feeding frenzy to finish.

Alienware : The Best Custom Built Gaming PC for the Ultimate PC Gamer!

This where I got my green laptop: it has a 128mb graphics card, a gig of RAM, 80Gb hard drive, firewire, USB2, SD slot, DVD writer, WiFi, even a remote control! But the network card port doesn't work. Sigh, why can't PC not just work first time?
