MP3 Downloads, music mp3 downloads. ALLOFMP3.

I started using iTunes at Christmas when I got my iPod mini, but recently my Brother-in-law pointed me towards this site and it is waaaay better. Here are the immediate differences.

Cost: ALLOFMP3 costs less than €1 for any CD
Selection: Much, much, much bigger on ALLOFMP3
Convenience: ALLOFMP3 has a download program you can use, or just use a browser. Just as easy as iTunes.
Format: MP3 on ALLOFMP3 or AAC that only works on an iPod from iTunes, I know which I prefer. MP3s are easy to copy to multiple Computers ( I have 3) whereas I can't do that with Apple's format.
Preview: I can listen to all of an Album free online with ALLOFMP3. But only 10 seconds of a track on iTunes.

Finally, amazingly, under Russian law, it's legal too!

H20 Audio has issued a statement attempting to explain a slightly negative Associated Press review of its SV Mini waterproof case for Apple's iPod mini. The company told iPodlounge that the initial round of cases sent out to reviewers was "pulled from a shipment of pre-production units" that "do not have a final housing seal." H20 Audio said these units are "splash proof but possibly not waterproof in an active environment," noting that the final cases are in transit and are expected in the coming weeks. iPodlounge has been testing the preliminary case for some time. We have delayed our review while awaiting representative final product of both the case and its included waterproof headphones.

The image displayed across the top of the site (for those using CSS compliant browsers) is a 1600 pixel-wide panoramic view from the top of my parents’ house, in Dorset. The scene was originally captured as a series of photographs, before being manually traced in Xara X and Photoshop 7 to produce the cartoony version you (hopefully) see here.

There are ninety versions of this panorama, each depicting the same scene under a different weather condition, time of day, and (at night) phase of the moon.

Thanks to an XML feed from weather.com, and some PHP jiggery pokery, the end result is a fairly accurate representation of what my parents see when they look out of their upstairs windows.

The more you know…
The position and distribution of the sheep are copied exactly from the photographs: some face left, some right, some forwards, some away, some are standing up, and some are lying down.
The sheep alternate their positions every other day, and also respond to their environment, sheltering when necessary, and huddling together at night to sleep.
The textures on the tiled roof, and on the dutch barn are taken from the photographs and superimposed onto the cartoons.
The fog and darkness are built up using ten semi-transparent layers, depth-positioned for realism.
The stars are positioned in various signs of the Zodiac, I can’t recall which ones, but Leo (mine) is in there somewhere.

Finally did this, in Ireland, the number to dial for O2 call forwarding is just like your own number but with a 5 after the 86, here's an example, this one give you 25 seconds to answer. I first typed it correctly into a note then copied and pasted it to the phone.

It's always the simple explanation isn't it? I have an XDA II and a Jabra BT250 headset, and suddenly they stopped working together, finally, I found the solution, and it was so stupidly simple!
Here's the quote that solved it for me:

"I just got myself the BT250 and tried it with my i-mate/xda II. Initially had the same problem as bbherens, and I thought it was a dud. Paired it, but phone just did would not "talk" to the headset, same symptoms. After a lot of headscratching, I finally worked it out.

I had elected *not* to display the Profile on my today screen, and hence didn't realise it was set to Off. Set it back to On, and it works perfectly."

This is cool, install this 300k file and when you do a search in Google, the results page has extra features. I don't think they're great, but the idea that you can put your own results page in front of Google is interesting...

JAYBE.org With this I can pick up my Gmail in Outlook and get notifications when I receive emails, if I set this up on a machine with outlook and an always on connection, I'll be able to automatically forward my Gmail to an account I can pick up from my Pocket PC. Which is nice.
